The Kenny family were looking for an affordable, memorable Southern Africa safari adventure. High on their list was time out at the beach to relax and unwind, a quality safari in South Africa and a visit to the UNESCO Site Victoria Falls with a Chobe water safari thrown in for good measure.
“Encompass Africa planned and booked a fantastic trip for us to Africa including Mozambique, Victoria Falls, Kruger National Park and Okavango Delta. Gen had great knowledge and personal experience of Africa and we immediately felt relieved to be booking our holiday with someone who could advise us on the best places to stay and the easiest and safest ways to travel within Africa. Our research and ideas were combined with solid advice from Encompass resulting in an amazing trip.
We started in Mozambique and Nuarro Lodge was beautiful and relaxing, just what we needed. Diving here was so easy as the team loaded everything onto the boat for us and our instructor was brilliant. The highlight here was fresh fish caught from the village next door and cooked that day. From here it was onwards to South Africa starting at Kaya Ndlovu Manor House in Hoedspruit – so luxurious, well appointed and attentive staff. It was everything you said it would be. The birthday cupcakes were a special touch. Our safari in the Kruger region at Chacma Bush Camp was special, small and intimate camp with great staff and a beautiful setting. We saw lions, rhino, buffalo, African wild cat, elephants and monkeys to name a few. Next was a Panorama Route drive to witness the truly stunning scenery.
Our experiences kept getting better and better as we flew up to Victoria Falls and had brilliant drivers, tours and of course the spectacular falls. Truly an unforgettable experience, they were really full and we got completely soaked – loved every minute of it! We found a great brewery with excellent fish and chips and cold beer!
The finale was approaching, time in Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. Impressive wilderness, abundant wildlife like hippos splashing in the water near our lodge in Chobe. Game drives and boating cruises kept us busy and there were more tourists and vehicles than elsewhere. Kwando Splash Camp is doing everything right! Beautiful accommodation, fantastic staff and skillful guides and trackers passionate about the bush and animals. We saw so much here – lionesses with cubs, African wild dog and pups, cheetah, elephant, hippo, giraffe, male lions and more! We got off-road to get closer to sightings and there were far less vehicles here making for a magical finale to our safari. The team here made Jasmine a birthday cake and sang to her and got her up to dance.
On a practical note…

Gen from Encompass Africa says:
“It was a real joy to work with the ladies and create this wonderful family African adventure. The ladies had already done some research and together we threw around ideas to create the ultimate trip.”
Gen’s suggestion for the Kenny family’s next African adventure:
“For the next trip, I would highly recommend the family heads to Tanzania’s Northern Circuit for the ultimate safari around the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and beyond. Great cultural interactions with Maasai, Hadzabe and spectacular scenery not to mention impressive wildlife. Something with adventure and around the great migration time like the itinerary Jono created a while back for the Hughes Family“
