Africa has a way of changing people. We have seen it happen time and again: travellers arrive ready for a remarkable holiday and return with a deeper connection to the wild, to other people and often to themselves.
The Encompass Africa Collections were created to make that experience even more meaningful.
Each Collection begins with something you already love like photography, conservation, family adventure, running or the timeless magic of a classic safari. We bring together a small group of like-minded travellers, shape an exceptional journey around that shared passion and send one of our own people to lead it.
Not an anonymous tour leader. Not somebody we have never met. One of us: an Encompass Africa specialist who knows the continent, shares your interest and cares deeply about the journey you will experience together.

Prefer to travel privately?
Our Collections run on set dates with a small group, but the spirit of many Collection journeys can also be created privately for your family or friends. Other times, we can curate the Collection around you if you’re happy for others to then come along for the adventure.
If the published dates do not suit or you would simply prefer to travel with your own people, talk to us. Subject to availability, we can explore a private departure led by a member of our team or create a Tailormade journey inspired by the Collection you love.

How many people travel on each Collection?
Group size varies according to the journey, accommodation and experience, but every Collection is deliberately kept small. The maximum number of guests will be clearly shown on each departure page.
Who leads an Encompass Africa Collection?
Every Collection is led by a member of the Encompass Africa team, working alongside expert local guides and specialists where relevant. Your Collection page will clearly identify your leader before you book.
Are the Collections suitable for solo travellers?
Absolutely. The Collections are designed to bring together people with a shared interest, making them an excellent option for solo travellers who value both companionship and personal space. Any single supplement or room-sharing options will be clearly explained.
Do I need experience in the Collection’s theme?
Usually not. Our Collections are built around enthusiasm rather than expertise. Any journey requiring a particular fitness level, skill or experience will make that clear from the beginning.
What is included?
Every Collection is different. The individual departure page will set out the itinerary, accommodation, included experiences, transport, meals and any exclusions clearly, so you know exactly what to expect.
Are international flights included?
International long-haul flights are generally arranged separately. We can assist with the regional and internal African flights included within the journey where applicable.
Can you create a Collection just for our private group?
Potentially, yes. Subject to dates, availability and group size, we can explore a private departure led by a member of our team or design a Tailormade journey inspired by your preferred Collection.
Which Encompass Africa Collection is calling you?
Each year we will run at least one or two tours as we build momentum and we’ve kickstarted with Photography.
New journeys and departure dates will be added as they take shape.
