An epic 27-night journey through Africa

Brian and Christine were keen to experience some of Africa’s finest wilderness areas and wildlife. It was to be the ultimate African safari package from Australia. This was their bucket-list trip and a once-in-a-lifetime holiday, so we needed to ensure the combination of experiences left them totally in awe of Africa. This 27-night trip was epic and exhilarating.

Thanks for the warm welcome home. Thanks also for the wonderful itinerary and the attention to detail, with the perfect accommodation and seamless transfers etc, from you and all of the team at Encompass Africa.

Ehlane Plains in Serengeti National Park and Splash Camp in the Okavango Delta were truly first-class camps, with wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Our tented accommodation was luxurious and spacious, with king-sized beds and showers with copious hot water.

“We had elephants ripping and crunching vegetation right outside our tent”

Christine also liked the male lion roars of a night at Splash, which sounded like they were right outside our tent – later that morning we found out that they were! Plus we definitely had elephants ripping and crunching the vegetation right outside our tent – we could see them. Because of the lions, we then had to be taken to our tent by vehicle.

Ilala Lodge at Victoria Falls, followed by the houseboat cruise on the Chobe Princess, was a delightful break in the middle of our action-packed safaris, with a bit of time to relax and even get up a bit later some mornings.

Thanks again for everything.

Gen’s suggestion for Brian and Christine’s next African adventure:

“I know Brian and Christine said they wouldn’t go back to Africa… How does one beat the ultimate African safari package from Australia we had already created? If they ever did wish to return to Africa, I would love to send them somewhere like Tswalu in South Africa’s Central Kalahari. Here they can experience sheer vastness, a very different landscape, great wildlife including many of the endangered species and private guide and vehicle so the activities are scheduled around their personal interests. Tswalu is also that little touch of luxury everyone deserves and dreams of for a safari finale.”
