Thanks for putting together another great itinerary. Macushla House in Nairobi was a lovely environment, good food and we talked to the owners and guests. Our day touring around Nairobi was fun. Our guide took us around to the Sheldrick centre in the morning and afternoon, that was great. We visited Karen Blixen house and the Giraffe Centre we then found a place called Matt Bronze that we passed a couple of times, so we went in as we both like bronzes. They had a café so we sat under the trees and had tea and coffee with Peter our guide, a lovely spot for a break. From here we went into the Masai Mara and stayed at Kicheche Camp on your recommendation. We loved the camp, the managers, the environment. Grass was very long as they have had unseasonal rains, which made game viewing interesting. Saw the big five there, plus lots of others. A black rhino had wandered in from the Mara, only the 2nd time in 12 years that our guide had seen one on the camp side. Good food and drinks too – plenty of it.
On the way to the central Camp in the Serengeti we were fortunate enough to see a Leopard in a tree and got some great shots of him. The Central camp was good fun. We were the only two in camp so they served us well, chatted to us, looked at our photos, etc and were really friendly. Apparently they told Clement our guide thanks for bringing great guests, but we didn’t know that at the time. The only issue with the tent was that it was on a slight downhill gradient, and as you got out of bed to find the facilities, it felt like you’d had a bit too much to drink! They are moving to a new site soon with better facilities, from what we were told. We had great viewings of cheetah, cheetah babies, vultures feeding, wildebeest, a couple of male lions, flamingos, etc., so that part was great.
