Being so close to mountain gorillas in their wild environment is a priceless experience and one that we will treasure forever. Rwanda itself is so beautiful too. The guides in Rwanda and especially in Tanzania were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Spending time in the Wayo green camps was definitely a highlight too, with fantastic camp sites all with completely different views and surroundings.
Other highlights of our trip included seeing the migration in the Serengeti, seeing the Ngorongoro crater was a childhood dream come true, snorkeling and swimming with a pod of 19 dolphins off Mnemba island, having a serval come to the dinner table in Nabi Hill, standing on top of a kopje in the walking camp to watch the sunset, having a bull elephant visit our tent in the night at Endabash, Lake Manyara and seeing a leopard on a night drive there on a beautiful bright moonlit night was also fantastic!
Hearing lions and hyenas in the night, seeing Kili from a distance and the huge numbers of elephants in Tarangire, Rwanda in itself was beautiful, seeing the vast open spaces of Tanzania was awesome – everything was fantastic!!!
We would go back to Africa – hopefully sooner rather than later – and it goes without saying that Encompass is the only company we would trust to organize it for us. Their amazing service before, during and after both our trips has been first class and we would not hesitate recommending them to anyone. Future travelers will not regret choosing them that is for sure.
