The Tswalu experience was everything we had hoped for.   It is not ideal if you want the big five because you won’t find them here – we knew that.  We had our list of animals we wanted to see including desert Black Rhino, Black maned lions, pangolin, meerkats and aardvark. Our private guide and tracker ensured we got the experiences we wanted with the exception of aardvark. Aardvark have been hard to find because the population has dramatically declined as a result of the severe drought.  As well as the usual game drives, we had walking experiences with wild dogs, meerkats, pangolin and various antelopes.  Cheetah were also a regular occurrence and it was special to watch them climb trees, something we had not seen before.

Accommodation was lovely. The Motse, only has 8 bungalows all with air conditioning, fireplaces, comfy beds and well equipped spacious bathrooms.  The main lodge building has the dining room, lovely pool, bar and well stocked wine cellar.  Staff prepared meals as needed and ensured that your preference in food and wine were always noted so they could be remembered and provided again.  It was also great to to able to walk freely around the lodge at night without an escort.  The real isolation, only a maximum of ten vehicles on more that 114,oo hectares and the range of interesting wildlife made this a truly memorable experience.
