We decided to go to Africa for our honeymoon as we were looking to travel to places we had never been. We wanted a balance of activities and relaxation and it really was the perfect balance. Experiencing new parts of the world together.
Safari was a highlight for me, having always wanted to capture African animals on film. Seeing animals in the wild was breathtaking. Something that was harrowing but also really raw and emotional was seeing a “kill” while on Safari. It really demonstrated just how vulnerable we are and how powerful and unforgiving nature can be.
We really enjoyed Mauritius. It was the perfect way to finish our trip. The food was great, great location, plenty of activities to chose from! I’d recommend staying in the North!
I think like most people, once you go to Africa, you can’t help but want to go back. I don’t know that it ever leaves you. We don’t feel like we saw enough. If we had more time and money we would have stayed longer. There is so much more we want to do!
