Donsante delta safari Victoria Falls finale

Botswana Family safari of a lifetime

Unforgettable!

Thank you, Jonathon!

On behalf of our family, thank you for  working with Robert to create an unforgettable experience, crafting this adventure, responding to updates and requests. At all times we felt we could make enquiries, tailor our trip and in the end, it was an adventure of a lifetime that we will remember forever and worth every cent.

At all times we were guided, felt safe, provided the best expert guides and support staff from the moment we stepped of the plane in Johannesburg on day 1 until departing the final airport Johannesburg again on day 7. Your local wisdom and experience ensured that the accommodation, service, experiences exceeded all of our expectations.

At Johannesburg the friendly team of 2 from Nas Colossal Aviation eased us through customs and baggage collection walking us to the City Lodge. A great location on site at the airport making transiting the following morning easy. The food, dining experience, rooms and service here were excellent. We had to seek medical attention at a local hospital for our son and the staff helped us arrange transport, ensured we left and were returned safely.

Onward to Botswana for an Okavango Delta family Safari, we stayed at Pom Pom. Here we were welcomed with drinks, greeted by the staff and guided to our rooms. This was glamping. In the middle of the reserve, spectacular well-appointed rooms with the animals beyond your veranda. A quick freshen up and onward for our first 31/2 hr safari. The jeeps well maintained, large and open to view the landscape and animals. Each day at 5am wake up, breakfast at o5h30 and then onto the safari by 6. Returning at 11-11h30, lunch, drinks, resting, playing games, enjoying the silence before heading out again at 4pm after fresh made afternoon tea to return for dinner at 8pm. Exhausted and in bed after being guided to our rooms about 21h30-222h00. Our guide and tracker Onni and Robert made this an unforgettable adventure. Our time was short, 2 nights but 4 safaris and a rhino encounter. We were expertly taken back to the small airport for our next journey to 4 Rivers.

4 Rivers had the wetlands, woodlands and grasslands on a far more expansive reserve. Travelling distances were much longer, sometimes travelling an hour watching the landscape, animals in the distance enjoying the serenity of morning or afternoon tea in a magical location quietly. At other times we observed a lioness, with a catch heading to feed her cubs, not yet seen by the guides.

The jeep teams work together to ensure all guests get the opportunity to witness wildlife if things are happening. It is amazing how the jeep can travel within a group of 26 dogs, they walk and stalk to the front, side and back of the jeep, before launching into an incredible attack, 4 consecutive kills in 45 minutes, that left us stunned and in awe of the beauty and brutality of nature. You never felt in the way of the other jeeps or each other, and at most there were only 3 jeeps, we had our own guides for our stay, so they got to know the family.

Our guide Clifford and tracker James were kind, experienced, sharing their knowledge and skills, teaching us throughout our experiences together. Amazing accommodation, food, drinks and attention to detail. Everything here was exceptional.

After an action-packed stay at 4 Rivers, we were transferred to our small plane for our flights to Shongwe Lookout at Victoria Falls Zimbabwe. Guided by your ground team after seamlessly negotiating our flights with support staff at hand we arrived at our hotel. Beautiful, simple, clean, well-appointed rooms with a beautiful, personalised letter from Jonathon. It really was those thoughtful additions that demonstrated your commitment to your clients and ensuring an extraordinary experience.

We headed out to Victoria Falls, an Uber arranged by the front desk was well worth it. To walk the falls, it takes a leisurely 90 minutes to explore the pathway along the falls on the Zimbabwe side. The mist, sound and dampness in the air was another moment to be in awe of nature. as was the Zambezi white water rafting adventure. Amazing.

Can’t fault a thing, planning and execution five stars. Family safari memories banked!
