Welcome.
Central Africa is one of the last frontiers for tourists and is home to countries like Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Central African Republic and South Sudan and the tiny Sao Tome & Principe islands. While not officially Central Africa, Uganda and Rwanda border with the DRC and share the Virungas, a series of volcanic mountains and ranges protected by national parks in all three countries. So we have included them in our Central Africa region for this reason.
The natural beauty of this region is spectacular, with dense jungles and forests, raging rivers to tiny islands in the Gulf of Guinea. This is an adventure travel region for mavericks seeking something beyond the brochures and certainly away from the crowds.
Central Africa’s most famous national park, Virunga National Park is home to elephants, lions, hippo, forest hogs and warthogs, okapis and of course mountain gorillas on the forest slopes of a volcano range.
