We believe
every journey should leave Africa stronger

its wildlife thriving, its communities uplifted, its landscapes preserved.

Our 2025 Hearten Africa giving list shines a light on extraordinary organisations, each a beacon of hope driven by dedicated teams on the ground.

Through our Refer and Reward program, your referrals fuel these initiatives, turning your passion for Africa into tangible impact. Discover how each friend you inspire to travel with us helps protect mountain gorillas, save giraffes, and empower Zambia’s wild heart.

Gorilla Doctors

In the misty forests of Rwanda, Uganda, and the DRC, Gorilla Doctors provide life-saving veterinary care to wild mountain gorillas, one of Earth’s most endangered species. With fewer than 1,000 mountain gorillas left, their hands-on interventions—treating injuries, monitoring health, and preventing disease are critical to survival.

Your $100 donation could fund medical supplies or a ranger’s training, ensuring these gentle giants roam free for future generations to come.

Their work is essential to the survival of these great apes, and each intervention directly supports the health of the wider population. We’re proud to promote their efforts and the impact they make every single day.

Giraffe Conservation Foundation

Giraffes, Africa’s silent giants, are quietly slipping toward extinction. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation is the world’s only organisation dedicated solely to their survival and operates in 16 countries across Africa.  Through science-based research, community engagement, education, local partnerships and habitat protection they are safeguarding declining giraffe populations and driving Africa-wide conservation strategies.

Your referral’s $100 could support GPS tracking for giraffes in Namibia or community workshops in Uganda, safeguarding these iconic creatures.

Conservation South Luangwa

In Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, Conservation South Luangwa (CSL) is a lifeline for wildlife and people. They work at the frontline of wildlife protection, combining conservation science, community partnerships and anti-poaching efforts to safeguard one of Zambia’s most treasured ecosystems. CSL runs  anti-poaching patrols, sniffer dog teams, and community programs to reduce the animal human conflict and foster harmony between nature and people.

Your $100 donation could equip a scout with gear or fund school outreach, buy a supply of dog food for the sniffer team or empower locals to thrive alongside their wild neighbours.
