Encompass Africa Collections
Our Collections are intimate, themed journeys created around the things that bring Africa to life: photography, conservation, walking, adventure, family, iconic wilderness and more. Each one is personally led by a member of the Encompass Africa team – never a contractor or an anonymous tour leader. You travel with someone who knows Africa, shares your passion and is there with you throughout the journey.
Collections run on carefully chosen dates with small numbers. They may also be arranged privately for your own group, with a member of our team accompanying you, subject to availability.

Your complimentary, obligation-free safari briefing is a chance to dream out loud with someone who knows Africa intimately. Tell us what has drawn you there, how you like to travel, what matters most and how you hope the journey will feel.
We listen carefully, ask the questions that reveal what will suit you and explain the possibilities honestly. If a tailor-made journey is the right fit, we begin shaping it around you. If one of our small-group tours or Collections would serve you better, we will let you know. The goal is never to sell you the most complicated journey. It is to find the right one.

STEP TWO
Your Africa specialist
One person who knows your story, supported by an experienced team
From your first conversation, you have a dedicated Africa Journey Maker who takes ownership of your experience. You will not be passed between departments or asked to explain your preferences again and again.
Your specialist brings personal experience of Africa and the backing of a team whose knowledge has been shaped by combined 100+ years of living, guiding and travelling across the continent. We recommend places because we understand what makes them special, who they suit and how they connect with the rest of your journey.
For tailor-made journeys, we turn your brief into a written summary and personalised Look Book filled with carefully chosen images, ideas and inspiration. While you explore what is possible, we speak with our trusted partners, check availability and begin bringing the journey together.
Your safari briefing, personalised Look Book and first two itinerary proposals are complimentary and completely obligation-free. These proposals include reasonable refinements within your agreed brief, giving us the time and space to shape a journey that feels genuinely right for you.
If, after receiving two proposals, you ask us to explore a substantially different journey outside the original brief, an AUD $500 design fee applies to each additional itinerary. This reflects the fresh research, supplier consultation and detailed costing involved. When you book your land arrangements with Encompass Africa, the design fee is credited in full towards your journey.
STEP THREE
The right journey takes shape
Personal by design, never pulled from a template
Every tailor-made itinerary begins with your brief, not a pre-set package. We consider the rhythm of the journey as carefully as the individual places: where to linger, when to slow down and how each camp, guide and experience adds meaning to the whole.
We explain why we have recommended each element, share thoughtful alternatives and refine the details within your agreed brief. You can be closely involved or leave more of the decisions to us. Either way, nothing is confirmed until you understand the journey and feel confident it is right for you.
For a small-group tour or Collection, we help you look beyond the itinerary. We talk through the pace, group size, style of guiding, level of activity and the character of the experience, so you know what travelling together will truly feel like.
When you are ready to go ahead, a 30% deposit secures your land arrangements, and your African journey becomes wonderfully real.
STEP FOUR
The details are handled
Complex behind the scenes, effortless for you
An extraordinary journey relies on hundreds of details working together. We coordinate your land arrangements and regional African flights, confirm transfers and experiences, share dietary and personal requirements, and guide you through visas, health considerations, travel insurance and international flight routing.
You receive clear information about what is included, what is not, the currencies used and when payments are due. Our journey pricing includes all known compulsory costs, and we do not add a separate card surcharge (after 1 October 2026).
Before departure, you receive beautifully prepared travel documents and a digital itinerary with your stays, transfers, experiences and key contacts at your fingertips. We check and reconfirm every arrangement, so you can focus on anticipation rather than administration.
STEP FIVE
With you while you travel
Personal support does not stop when the journey begins
While you are in Africa, you are supported by your Encompass Africa specialist, our directors and trusted partners on the ground. If plans need to change, we work together to resolve them. If an unexpected opportunity arises, we help you make the most of it.
Guests travelling on an Encompass Africa Collection have something more: one of our own team is there in person, sharing the experience and taking care of the journey as it unfolds.
Africa is dynamic, wild and wonderfully unpredictable. Knowing the right people are behind you leaves you free to be fully present for it.
STEP SIX
You come home different
Your journey ends, but its influence does not
Africa stays with you. It may be the stillness of the bush at dusk, the first sight of a mountain gorilla, a conversation around the fire or a landscape so immense that it changes your sense of scale. Often it is something harder to name: a renewed curiosity, a deeper connection or a different way of seeing what matters.
When you return, we get in touch for a real conversation. We want to know what moved you, what surprised you and what could have been better. Your experience helps us strengthen our relationships, refine the way we work and keep raising the standard for every guest who follows.
For many travellers, coming home is also the beginning of wondering where in Africa they might go next. When that moment arrives, your Africa specialist already knows your story.
