Helpful tips and travel recommendations for 2022
Africa in perspective
Africa is an enormous continent with 54 countries. We specialise in half that number!
The continent is large enough to cover the USA, Eastern Europe, India, China, the UK (that’s Madagascar alone), Ireland, Japan and most of Western Europe!
So a crucial component of planning any holiday to Africa is understanding all the places you’d like to go and the distances and logistics to move around.
Reconnecting body, mind & soul
More than ever before, travellers seek to reconnect and rejuvenate body, mind and soul. Travel helps us to explore outer world but also it also can impact your inner being. Travel has the ability to transform and also bond you with loved ones like no other experience.
You can escape the hustle and bustle and put your digital devices down to savour the beauty of wilderness unlike anything you’ve seen before.
The majestic Victoria Falls, intriguing Kafue and Busanga Plains in Zambia or Tanzania’s epic Serengeti where endless grass plains and wildlife abound.
Meaningful safaris
So many of our clients are making conscious decisions to visit regions in Africa that need tourism the most. Choose experiences that have a more fulfilling and positive impact long after you return.
Luxury safari tourism is based on the principles of regenerative travel – focusing funds that maintain the delicate balance between humans and nature.
Every safari we design makes a difference. But you can also opt for more hands-on conservation experiences. Simply liaise with your specialist to find the right activities – it could be a marine ecology project with Blue Safaris in the Seychelles or wildlife conservation in South Africa.
Bucketlist family safaris
While 2020 and 2021 were all about ‘staycations’, families are now looking for adventure further afield. We’ve already had a number of families book epic bucket list safaris to experience together, often with three or even four generations travelling.
Safaris are great family adventures and celebrations – so if you’ve got a long overdue reunion with family, choose Africa!
Some of our favourite family experiences are exclusive-use safari accommodations. Equally fun and a touch more adventurous is a private mobile safari through the beautiful Botswana wilderness. Sleep under canvas, toast marshmallows with the kids in the campfire and wake to the calls of the wild and a cup of freshly brewed hot coffee! It doesn’t get better.
The ultimate road trip
Road tripping, camping and caravanning are popular past times for most Aussies. So why not take the adventure to Africa? South Africa and Namibia have some of the greatest scenic drives in the world. Picture yourself cruising around the ‘boot of Africa’, stopping at spectacular Cape Town before heading into the mountains for a visit to world-class winelands. Of course a safari is on the agenda with national parks and private concessions galore ready to explore!
Nambia boasts dramatic scenery, vast desert roads, grand sweeping vistas and exceptional driving conditions. The safari experience is outstanding with Etosha National Park a must-see.
Themed holidays
We’ve discovered the popularity of themed holidays – where travellers set one or more themes that are to be at the heart of their holiday in Africa.
From photographic safaris to off the beaten track trails, it’s creating an itinerary based on your interest areas.
There’s truly nothing quite like sleeping out under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the wild and rising with the sun and looking out over vast landscapes – that’s the beauty of treehouse safaris.
You’ll be surprised at just how many opportunities there are for this themed Africa holiday adventure!
