Zimbabwe Adventure – The Smiths

Encompass Africa designed us a fabulous trip taking in the best of Zambia and Zimbabwe. So after spending time in Zambia we headed off to Zimbabwe to spend time on safari in Hwange. The river crossing from Zambia to Zimbabwe was exciting, worked very well thanks to your logistical coordination and partners on the ground – definitely a timesaver.

The Hide at Hwange National Park was a good camp – great fun with great guides and people.  We got to see Cecil’s pride, lots of bull elephants and lions.  Next time we go would like go a little later in the season so we can see the larger herds congregating.

After a wonderful time in Hwange and the great game viewing it was off to Victoria Falls.  Even though we have been a few times already, Victoria Falls was lovely. It was the most water we’ve seen coming over the edge, got wet and that’s the fun of it.  Ilala Lodge was very nice and we’d stay there again for sure – good choice.
