Our guide to

Group Tours Safaris in Africa

Set off with others.

Small group safari tours are a great way to experience Africa for those who prefer to travel with like minded individuals to new and exciting safari holiday locations. Whilst the majority of our work is tailormade safari holidays to Africa, we also offer our guests a handpicked selection of small group tours to Africa throughout the year.

Botswana Tours are outstanding and get you amongst the wilderness and close to wildlife action, led by highly skilled guides and camping in style (with camp team to look after you and comfortable tents and bedding plus ensuite bathrooms usually unless you’re on a budget and happy to rough it a little more).

Namibia Tours allow you to cover big distances and most are fly-in and out to the various locations to keep precious time allocated to Namibia safari holiday activities not long bumpy transfers. We do have a few that are in 4×4 vehicles if you have a tighter budget.

South Africa Tours are the only ones we offer in larger vehicles (luxury air conditioned mini and full sized coach depending on the tour) – the rest are in 4x4s. This is because roads are great and distances quite vast between places. Once you arrive at safari destinations you then venture out on your safari activities in 4×4 vehicles.

East Africa offers outstanding small group tours and you can choose to explore just one country like a Kenya Safari tour, Tanzania Safari tour, Uganda Safari tour or Rwanda Safari tour.  Alternatively, get on a great escape and travel with a small group tour through Kenya and Tanzania.

The secret is finding the ultimate tour that suits your interests in terms of destinations, experiences, time and budget.  Remember we can tailor a pre-tour and post-tour itinerary to take in any safari holiday areas you miss on the tour or for an island or beach finale to your small group safari.

Below you will find some top tips plus examples of where you can explore on a small group safari tour. These are just a few of the outstanding selection we have on offer, so get in touch today!

Best Time to Go

Depending on where you want to go, there may be some months better than others. Keep in mind July and August will always be busier and a little more expensive as it’s high season due to the summer holidays in the USA, UK and Europe. Due to the small size of our group safari tours, availability is best secured by booking well in advance.  South Africa is outstanding all year round.

Namibia and Botswana are also great all year round depending on your preferred season and temperature!  Kenya small group tours and Tanzania tours run most of the year and timing is often determined by what part of the wildebeest migration you wish to see. Don’t forget Rwanda and Uganda group tours for effortless travel.

Good to know

We work directly with the owners and operators of all the small group tours we have selected and meet with them at least twice a year to discuss any changes to the program, new guides, vehicles and so forth.

In addition, we liaise regularly to ensure we are up to speed with any changes made due to environmental changes so we get you on the best Africa tour for outstanding safari holiday experiences.
