Southern Africa Celebration Safari
We really worked hard to ensure these VIP guests had an unforgettable birthday in Africa for all the right reasons. Here’s the feedback we got whilst travelling from them, one of the camps and when they got back.
While travelling
Hi Danica and Jono. Trip is progressing well. Blue Train was terrific, birthday champagne in our suite on boarding, birthday cake from the Blue Train staff with a card and lovely song at dinner time. Really enjoying the SA wines in Cape Town and we tried Kudu today, delicious. We are off tomorrow exploring Stellenbosch then up the garden route to Knysna.
Feedback from one of the Camps
We loved your guests! They’ve had some wonderful wildlife sightings and been on game drives, Kokomo and we surprised them in the afternoon before their game drive with a cake and the staff came in to sing for him. He really appreciated the cake and shared it with the rest of the guests. They came back all smiles after seeing a pride of lions on a hunt and said it was amazing to see the whole process – couldn’t stop raving about it. They wanted to go fishing so we made it happen and it was a lovely relaxing afternoon. We did birthday sundowner drinks again and the water reflecting the sun was stunning they said. There was yet another surprise because it was then Sally’s birthday. She asked her guide to keep it low key. We just went ahead and made her cake and before departure we came as the staff and sang for her. Tears of joy and happiness kept on rolling down her cheeks and she was speechless. We gave them packed lunch boxes for their onward light aircraft flight and believe they had a great special celebration safari with us. Sally and the kitchen staff even exchanged multiple recipes which was great.
After travel
The planning after we provided some must dos was spot on with provision of detailed itinerary, information on the countries we would be visiting, health requirements etc. Any questions were answered promptly. The safaris themselves were different as one was Davisons Camp in Hwange, Zimbabwe and the other was Kanana in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Both Camps were very efficiently run and provided very good service with expert guides and we managed to spot a large number of game including 4 of the big 5, only missing out on the Rhino.
Encompass via their local staff had a birthday cake arranged on the Blue Train and at Kanana as well as a welcoming bottle of birthday champagne. The trip was exceptional and we would not hesitate to recommend Encompass Africa as a sensational safari organiser and would use them again if we get the opportunity.
