Wendy Thomson’s 14-night solo trip exploring Botswana’s Desert and Delta, with a Victoria Falls finale

“I can’t thank Encompass Africa enough for making the whole experience so wonderful.”

Communication with the staff was fantastic, from the first phone call to the last email welcoming me back home. All questions were answered promptly and in detail. They more than lived up to expectations and understood my needs and concerns. The safari tour itself went off without a hitch and the experience itself was much more than I expected, so much so that I am in the process of booking again for next year! I am a solo traveller who lives regionally so it is really important that I get a good feel for companies that I cannot physically visit, and with Encompass Africa I got exactly that. I can’t thank them enough for making the whole experience so wonderful.

Gen from Encompass Africa says:

Travelling solo, Wendy first expressed interest in small-group mobile camps in the Delta, and she was thrilled at the alternative: visiting exclusive private concessions with phenomenal wildlife. The bonus of travelling during the green season is these camps offer heavily discounted rates.

Gen’s suggestion for Wendy’s next African adventure:

The moment Wendy returned, she was back in touch to book the same trip for the following year. Wendy loves being in the wilderness and getting up close to the wildlife without the crowds. For a contrasting experience, a safari in Kenya’s private conservancies in Laikipia and Mara would be right up her alley, with their rich concentration and diversity of wildlife, including rhino, cheetah, and different species of antelope and plains game not seen in Botswana. Green season also offers fantastic value for money, and with sharing game drives, fireside drinks and meals with fellow guests, creates a great social atmosphere for a solo traveller.
