Introducing Shinde Footsteps

We love creating family holidays and one of our favourites, Shinde Footsteps has been rebuilt!

Welcome to Shinde Footsteps, an intimate camp located in the Shinde Private Concession.

It is open to all guests, not just families and those who love walking safaris. But we love it for exclusive use purposes when a family seeks something out of this world. The camp is intimate, accommodating just six guests in a choice of twin, double or a family tent. Activities galore with day and night game drives, walking safaris, boating, mokoro excursions and fishing (seasonal).

This is a throwback to safaris of yesteryear because it’s a delicate footprint, charming and not over the top.

Don’t get us wrong, you still have ALL the creature comforts you can imagine.

Days are spent exploring the vast wilderness, abundant with wildlife and evenings are savoured under the stars by the fire with your feet in the Kalahari sand.

There’s a main area with dining tent, lounge and all with views over the permanent waters which is an active hippo pool. There is a photo editing suite and guest toilet in the main area too. So you really can enjoy every moment relaxing.

Your accommodation is simple yet comfortable canvas tents on decks, comprising an ensuite bathroom, indoor and outdoor shower. The family tent has two bedrooms and a shared ensuite bathroom.

For families, we love the Young Explorers program, specially designed to offer you and your loved ones the opportunity to discover Africa together. Hosted by a specialist family guide, the emphasis is on providing you with engaging, age-appropriate activities on a flexible schedule while creating shared memories that will certainly last a lifetime. Kids get a gift pack upon completion with shirt, cap, water bottle and safari certificate.

Does Shinde Footsteps sound like your kind of family safari?

Let’s get you there sooner than later so together you can relish the beauty of being on safari.
