Supporting wildlife conservation

How you can make a difference: Travel with purpose

At Encompass Africa, we believe that travel should not only inspire but also protect the very landscapes and wildlife that make Africa so extraordinary.

Sustainable tourism has always been at the heart of what we do, and today, it’s more critical than ever. With human expansion encroaching on Africa’s last remaining wilderness areas, conservation is no longer an option—it’s a necessity.

Why it matters

Africa’s wildlife faces growing challenges, from habitat loss to poaching and climate change. Without intervention, many iconic species and ecosystems could disappear. But together, we can make a difference. By choosing responsible travel and supporting conservation initiatives, you play a direct role in protecting Africa’s natural heritage for future generations.

Our commitment

We are proud to be part of a global travel community dedicated to conservation. One of the most powerful industry initiatives to date is Donate to Wildlife Conservation, spearheaded by our dear friend, the inspirational Rose Hipwood. This collective effort unites travel professionals and passionate adventurers to support small, high-impact conservation projects across Africa.

As a key partner, Encompass Africa connects you with meaningful opportunities to give back. We don’t handle donations directly, but we make it easy for you to engage with projects that align with your values. Through our trusted conservation partners, you can explore various initiatives, understand their impact, and contribute in a way that suits you—whether through financial support, volunteering, or spreading awareness.

Where your support goes

Currently, we work with conservation projects in Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Congo and beyond!  From anti-poaching efforts to habitat restoration and wildlife rehabilitation, these initiatives are making a tangible difference.

Importantly, every dollar donated goes exactly where it’s needed, thanks to rigorous oversight by our network of conservation experts.

How you can help

  • Learn and share – Knowledge is power. Explore conservation projects, understand the challenges, and share their stories with friends and family.
  • Donate directly – Visit our partner platform to contribute to projects that inspire you. Even small donations go a long way in Africa.
  • Choose responsible travel – Travel with us and support eco-friendly lodges, ethical wildlife encounters, and community-driven tourism initiatives.
  • Get involved – Some projects welcome hands-on support. If you’re keen on a more immersive experience, let’s discuss opportunities for you to participate directly.

Be part of the change

Africa’s wild places and incredible species depend on all of us. By simply choosing to travel responsibly, you’re already making a difference.

Want to do more? Get in touch, and we’ll help you find a conservation project that resonates with your passion.

Together, we can ensure Africa’s wildlife not only survives but thrives.
