Wildlife conservation in Africa
Encompass Africa is committed to sustainable tourism and wildlife conservation. We always have been, yet now more than ever before as demand for land grows and human encroachment impacts the last remaining wilderness and wildlife in Africa.
Our industry is relatively small and we are close – even our competitors here in Australia and worldwide. In fact as a community, we are very vocal and realised last year the power of a shared voice. Thanks to the wonderful Rose Hipwood for really getting a great initiative launched called Donate to Wildlife Conservation.
Our role as a key partner is to provide guests the opportunity to learn about small projects throughout Africa that genuinely make a difference and give you the chance to contribute in various ways. Whilst we (Encompass Africa) don’t collect money directly, we put you in touch via our partner website where you can read about each project, why they need your help and what money can ‘buy’ in terms of support. You can be sure that your money goes to where they say it will because the panel of partners are closely involved in evaluating needs and monitoring contributions.
There are currently wildlife conservation initiatives and projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. And more are to come because everyone is passionate about different causes.
Please do take the time to look at the many projects around Africa and think about how you could make a difference. Share with your family, friends and smile knowing you too can make a difference. We have many other projects in Africa if you’re interested to find one to suit your particular interests, just ask us!
