Qorokwe Camp
The newest addition to Wilderness Safaris in the Okavango Delta.
Welcome to Qorokwe Camp Okavango Delta. This is the latest property launched by our friends at Wilderness Safaris and what a spectacular safari offering.
Our very own Katie and Nicola spent a night at Qorokwe recently, see their review below. In the meantime, let’s take a look inside and see just what awaits your visit to the Okavango Delta on safari in Botswana.
Before we do that, it’s worthy of mentioning Qorokwe Camp is in the final list of 102 best new hotels in the widely anticipated 2018 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List. It uncovers the top trends inspiring modern travellers and Wilderness Safaris got two listings, Qorokwe in Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Bisate at Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park (two of only nine African lodges that made the list).

More on Qorokwe Camp Okavango Delta
So let’s delve into what you can expect in the rooms and indeed at the camp.
As we said, there are nine tented suites, one of which is a spacious family suite with its own splash pool. So don’t just think average canvas tent that you and I would pitch on a camping trip back home. These are uber lush. The ensuite bathroom facilities are impressive with a convertible indoor and outdoor shower – yes please! We won’t give too much away – rather you indulge and go and see it for yourself.
Then we walk to the main area. It is built on raised wooden platforms and features a wonderfully welcoming dining area, lounge, library, bar (safari essential) and an infinity pool (summer here can be hectic, so pool whilst indulgent, is welcome relief from the heat) overlooking an expansive lagoon.
Food here is like an African safari in itself for the tastebuds. Gourmet safari at its best. You get to eat in the dining room, outdoors in the fantastic boma area and don’t miss their brilliant pizzas from an impressive pizza oven.

Katie’s Review:
Qorokwe, how I miss thee.
What can be said about Qorokwe Camp, other that it is absolutely spectacular. As the first camp on my Botswana adventure, there could be no better introduction to the region. With great staff, guides, rooms, and wildlife, it certainly set high expectation for the rest of Botswana!
The staff at Qorokwe are exceptional, very warm and welcoming, and always there to help with anything you might require. Danny, the camp manager, is passionate and insightful, and willing to answer any questions you might have about the camp, the concessions, or the Okavango Delta as a whole.
The same can be said of the guides, Jacob and Jonnah, who are an incredible wealth of knowledge. Jacob, who was my guide for our stay, certainly set the bar high in terms of friendliness and knowledge. He gave us all great information about not only the wildlife, but the region, plants, nightlife, stars, and was happy to share with us his own experience growing up in the area. Truly a fantastic guide.
The wildlife in Qorokwe was amazing, during my short stay we managed to see lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, impala, hippo, hyena and more. And being a private concession, you don’t have to share your sightings with vehicles from any other camps or lodges, giving us true exclusivity.
On top of game drives, Qorokwe also offers mokoro experiences, with great polers who will guide you through the lagoons while sharing insights into the local ecosystem. As my first time in a mokoro, I was a little nervous (they are very small canoes!), but this was quickly erased as I sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the beautiful water views.
All in all, for those looking for a luxury stay, fantastic guiding, great service, and abundant wildlife, look no further than Qorokwe camp. Truly, a five star experience.
