Cape Town Accommodation Guide

We’ve got three main areas within Cape Town.

Atlantic Seaboard – Seaside suburbs, steep mountain side topography dropping to the beach. Expect great views. Camps Bay is the star of the strip with a small retail heart and several fantastic restaurants and bars across the road from the elegant palm-lined beach.

City Bowl – Flanked by Lion’s Head to the west, Devil’s Peak to the east, Table Mountain creates a natural amphitheatre locals call the City Bowl.  Some streets are lively in the evenings with bars and restaurants, namely Bree Street and Kloof Street.

Waterfront – as the name states, this gets you down to the V&A Waterfront. It is really popular which means very touristy. There are self contained apartments, budget to luxury hotels and so much on offer by way of shops, markets, access to boat cruises, helicopter flights and more.

Winelands Accommodation Guide

The Cape Winelands can be done as a day trip from Cape Town yet you miss out on the beauty of the mountains early morning, late afternoon and into the evening. Mountain scenery, stunning village feel, outstanding cuisine and of course some outstanding wines are yours to savour. Here are our favourites

Garden Route Guide

The Garden Route is an exciting journey explored on a self drive holiday or with one of our private guides. Here are our favourite places to stay along the way. We have it in sections including Route 62 which is the inland road, then Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and the Whale Route which is Hermanus.  The safari component of the Garden Route is the Eastern Cape, see the separate guide for that below!

Eastern Cape Accommodation Guide

Famous for its malaria free safari offering, this is a family favourite as you can imagine. You can simply fly in from Johannesburg or Cape Town or start/end here as part of the Garden Route holiday adventure.

Check out the accommodation available in Port Elizabeth, the closest town and then the nearby safari reserves.

Johannesburg Accommodation Guide

The hub of South Africa, most people don’t even want to consider staying in Johannesburg. We think differently about it as a city and have some fantastic tours you can do with private guides to get an understanding of its brilliance.

So here are some of the accommodations available in Johannesburg.

Kruger Accommodation Guide

Welcome to the Kruger region and our accommodation guide. Again this is certainly far from all the properties we use, just a selection so you can get a feel for the diversity of offering.

Remember there is the Kruger National Park proper and then private reserves that border the Kruger and fences have been dropped so wildlife go freely between the reserves. So we have 2 collections for you.

Victoria Falls Accommodation Guide

It is so easy to add in a few nights at Victoria Falls if you’ve been on holidays in South Africa. There are now direct flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town and of course Kruger.

Zambia is on one side of the Falls and the town there is Livingstone. Whilst Zimbabwe is home to Victoria Falls town itself so the accommodation collection has two sections.

Chobe Accommodation Guide

The watery paradise of Botswana, Chobe is a wonderful safari add on if you’ve been in South Africa where boating safaris are not the ‘norm’. Plus it’s just 2 hours’ drive from Victoria Falls so an easy one to factor in. Kasane is the town right at Chobe National Park and that means it’s busy with locals and tourists. So expect to see more vehicles and boats at animal sightings.
