Sustainable tourism in Africa

Here at Encompass Africa, conservation is at our core. We genuinely believe we enlighten the lives of our guests through meaningful experiences in Africa whilst contributing to the future of the continent.

We proactively support initiatives in the countries where we operate and many of our guests are so moved by their time in Africa, they too want to contribute to making a difference.

As John Burroughs once said ‘the smallest deed is better than the grandest intention.’

Allow me to introduce you to our past guests, Alex and Ash. They are making a difference one smile at a time. This small company thinks big and set up to sell environmentally friendly bamboo handled toothbrushes. The design whilst sexy is not what makes them special.

Like the Toms brand, they make a difference with every sale. For every toothbrush sold, an additional toothbrush is given to a child in a developing country. So it makes a difference to a child’s life.

This  wonderful initiative is directly benefitting kids in need in Kenya.

Encouraging good dental hygiene from childhood can directly improve a child’s health and hugely reduce the need for expensive dental care further down the track. It also makes life more enjoyable – fresh breath, good strong teeth for all of those beautiful smiles that come from the children on the receiving end.

Charles and Olivia  -a Sustainable tourism in Africa project

This is about using your daily routine to make a difference. So if you purchase a bamboo toothbrush, one is donated to a child in Kenya. Clean teeth for you and a healthy smile for a child in need.

On average, a child goes through a toothbrush every 3 months according to dentist Alex Mogilevski one of the founders.

Encompass Africa is super keen to support this brilliant cause and so we’ve just hit the send button on a box heading over to the Shine Academy which will be enough brushes for the entire school for 3 months.

So if you need a toothbrush, whether you are going on an Africa safari holiday or not, please consider a Charles or Olivia – pink for girls and blue for boys of course!  Spread the word so we can see more healthy smiles in Africa.

Thanks in advance for your support of this fabulous initiative and for helping us promote Sustainable tourism in Africa.
