Day 2 – Oliver’s Camp
After breakfast, make your way through Arusha town heading in a westerly direction towards Tarangire National Park. Once you are through the park gates, you will soon see the famous Baobab Trees and will most likely encounter an elephant or two. Unwind and relax with a drink around the campfire before enjoying your first dinner in the comfort of the camp. (all meals included)
Day 3 – Oliver’s Camp
Head off into the Tarangire bush on foot with an armed ranger and camp guide. Walking safaris offer the opportunity to explore the finer workings of the bush which are usually missed from the vantage point of a vehicle. Stalking elephant and plains game on foot brings a whole new level of adventure and excitement to the safari experience and should not be missed. Return to camp for lunch before an afternoon game drive. On return to camp, enjoy a welcome shower before drinks and dinner.
Day 4 – Plantation Lodge
After breakfast you will be driven out of Tarangire National Park, enjoying the game along the way. From the park gate, you have the chance to enjoy a tar road as you head towards Lake Manyara National Park; but that’s where the tar road ends! Flamingos, tree climbing lions, hippos and a variety of plains game await you inside this stunning park. A packed lunch from Oliver’s Camp can be enjoyed alongside the lake, before making your way up the hill towards the town of Karatu. Outside Karatu, set amongst working farms and coffee plantations is Plantation Lodge. Your afternoon arrival allows time for a shower and a chance to relax in the garden before dinner. (dinner, breakfast, picnic lunch included)
Day 5 – Plantation Lodge
After an early breakfast, make your way through the park gates and up to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend down the inner wall to the floor of this unbroken caldera and into a fascinating variety of wildlife interlaced with Maasai herdsman and their cattle. Enjoy a day of remarkable game viewing, hoping all along to catch a glimpse of the elusive Black Rhino. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, make your way back up to the rim to enjoy the stunning views across the crater before returning to Plantation Lodge for a well earned drink and home style dinner.
Day 6 – Dunia Camp
Another early start as you make your way from Plantation Lodge to Manyara Airstrip for your 08h30 flight to the Serengeti. On arrival at Seronera Airstrip in the central Serengeti, you will be met by a guide and transferred to Dunia Camp, keeping an eye out for game along the way. Arrive at Dunia Camp in time for lunch. After giving your food a chance to settle, head out onto the Serengeti Plains in search of the wildlife which makes this national park so famous. As evening approaches, return to camp for a sundowner around the fire and a delicious dinner which will leave you wondering how such a fantastic meal is prepared out in the African bush. (all meals included)
Day 7 & 8 – Dunia Camp
A morning game drive departs after breakfast, heading out into the Serengeti in search of black rhino and big cats. Return to camp for lunch and a chance to refresh before heading out again in the afternoon. The landscape of this area is diverse and Dunia Camp is well positioned to enjoy game drives in the Moru Kopjes region, the game rich Seronera Valley and the open plains to the south. On return to camp, enjoy a hot shower before yet another superb dinner in the bush.
