Jafferji House & Spa opens its doors to guests travelling to the Spice Island of Zanzibar and wanting to immerse themselves in the cultural melting pot of Stone Town.
Ideally positioned in the heart of Stone Town’s labyrinth of laneways, Jafferji House is an casually elegant boutique hotel. It is named after its owner who once used the building as his family home and personally managed the restoration of the building to its former glory.
Javed Jafferji and his wife Kulsum warmly invite you to experience the magic of Jafferji House.
There are 10 suites and each one boasts a unique name, design and decor. Each one offers beautiful furnishings, spacious bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. Our favourite is the superior Jafferji’s Sultan Suite with your own private parlour filled with beautiful silver plated antique Indian sofas, an opulent bathroom complete with moroccan brass bath tub and views over the old Fort to the turquoise waters in the distance.
The main areas of the house host antique furniture, art works and photography on the walls by owner Javed.
The spa is up on the rooftop and offers the ultimate retreat from the frantic pace on the streets below. Here, you can relax, enjoy massages and wellness treatments (try the warm milk bath). There is also a tea room on the rooftop, the ideal place to savour the stimulation of your senses.
Dining here is a treat too, don’t miss the Mistress of Spices Cafe, plush seating, antiquities on the walls and delicious foods from traditional Zanzibarari fare and abundant seafood. You must try the special spice-infused coffee! Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
