Gone are the days where people were calling and wanting a ‘holiday’ in Africa. Now, the buzz words are experience, authenticity and reality. As one of our dear friends said to me yesterday ‘in our world of social media, digital friendships and virtual reality, we now crave that which is real and travel is no different.’
So I recently set off (and returned just last night) in search of truly authentic experiences in Africa, from the South Luangwa to Lower Zambezi in Zambia, the remote islands on Lake Malawi to the northern reaches of Kenya and of course the in demand areas of Victoria Falls and Masai Mara.
Seek and you shall find as they say and along the way I was truly humbled by the beauty of Africa and the kindness of her people. I discovered an abundance of uncontrived experiences that I look forward to sharing with you as our guests, where you immerse yourself in Africa’s landscapes amongst its people – the real communities and learn about their cultures and traditions.
With wildlife the number one attraction, I of course tried and tested multiple safari experiences from walking safari with Norman Carr Safaris, canoeing safaris on the Lower Zambezi to fly in safaris on Kenya.
I am so excited to share these experiences and will do so over the coming weeks here on our news blog, facebook and of course twitter. Plus we are currently creating our 2013 collection which will go live in the coming weeks! You won’t want to miss that.
Today, it’s into the office to get hands on once again. May my stories inspire you to once again pack your bags and to experience what truly is one of the best adventures life can offer.
