Committed to Accessibility
Here at Encompass Africa we are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so, adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
This website endeavours to confirm to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 http://webguide.gov.au/accessibility-usability/accessibility/
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in the following browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code.
Our website should display correctly in the current and previous two versions of the following browsers:
Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera
Areas we’re still working on
While this new website strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible for us to do so in all areas of our website. We currently do not offer video and audio transcripts, audio captions and provision of audio descriptions. There are also some access errors on pages displaying google maps due to the size of google map layouts. And finally, we will also address Alt text for images so it includes more information on where the user will be taken, not just what the image depicts.
